What are the Health Insurance Plans Offered by Wawanesa

Wawanesa Insurance offers health plans in its group coverage. Plan sponsors can include coverage for prescription drugs, medical supplies, professional services, accidental dental, ambulance services, emergency out-of-country coverage, out-of-country referral coverage, hospital and convalescent hospital coverage, vision care and so forth in the plan.  The plan also provides dental coverage which includes level 1 (basic dental), level 2 (major restorative), and level 3 (orthodontia).

What Does Wawanesa Insurance Group Benefit Cover?

Basically, three group benefits are offered by Wawanesa Insurance. These include basic plans, enhanced plans, and custom plans. Basic and enhanced plans are available for groups comprising 3-9 lives while custom plans are available for groups comprising 10 lives.

Wawanesa Insurance announced on October 1, 2018, that its insurance products in Quebec will be available only through independent insurance brokers. This implies that the company’s Quebec operation has transitioned from a direct to consumer sales model to a broker distribution model. Furthermore, the company promised that it would be introducing commercial products to its Quebec market via its new broker partners which consist of 11 independently owned and operated insurance brokerage in Quebec communities.

The new brokers primarily include Assurancia Venne et Fille, Assurances Multi-Risques, Bouchard & Associes Solutions d’assurances, Assurancia Gatineau, Bilodeau Couture Assurances, Gaudreau Assurances, Fort Assurances & Avantages Sociaux and so forth. Furthermore, as part of the transition, Wawanesa Insurance will convert several of its service offices in Quebec to brokerage locations.
