Julia Huang said that her 8-month-old Pomeranian, “Molly”, was viciously attacked by a Husky during a pet training class at PetSmart in North York, the puppy suffered a severe eye injury after the attack.

Huang told CTV Toronto that Molly was screaming really hard. You can even hear her screaming through the store. “I can’t imagine how much pain she was going through”, Huang said.

According to Huang, the pet training started normally but things went bad when the training started throwing toys at Molly. The Husky went after the toys thrown at the puppy. She was attached by Husky and by the time they rescued her, one eye was already seriously injured.

Huang took her dog to an emergency veterinarian where she went through surgery the next morning. She said the pet will require at least two more surgery but claims PetSmart won’t pay for them.

The training enrollment signed by Huang in late September 2018 states that PetSmart and its employees are not liable to any expenses or cost incurred as a result of the participation of any pet. It also stated that people seeking damages must look solely to the pat parent of the pet causing the damage or injury for compensation.

However, PetSmart offered to cover Molly’s veterinarian bills in a statement. It also said it would work with Husky’s owner. It won’t disclose any information about the owner. Molly is more than a pet to Huang and Michael, her husband, so, it is difficult for them to deal with the ordeal. She said they are frustrated and have even complained to the animal services in the city.
