What Happens When a Family Can’t Afford a Funeral?

If you cannot afford the cost of funeral, burial or cremation, you need to contact the coroner’s office at your county or state and sign a release form. This allows the state or city to be allowed to either cremate or bury the body.

What Is the Difference Between Life Insurance and Funeral Insurance?

Furthermore, life insurance provides for long-time financial security but funeral insurance is a shorter-term coverage.

Who is Legally Responsible for Funeral Costs?

The cost of the burial, cremation or funeral should be paid from the deceased estate but if the executor of the deceased’s will or his/her next of kin does not have sufficient money for the funeral, he can contact the coroner at his state or city to either bury or cremate the body. Thereafter, the remains will be released to the state or city for burial or cremation.
