Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is an annual dog show event featuring the best dogs of most recognized breeds. An invitation to the show is a great honor and so winning Best of Breed is a special honor.

2016 Best of Breed in the Irish Terrier Breed was won by an Okanagan dog, Dart, in the Westminster Dog Show.

Dart the Irish Terrier was named the top Irish Terrier in the competition, making it the second time an Okanagan dog would win such a prestigious title in the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.

However, the Irish Terrier did not win the year’s best of show honor, it was won by a three-year-old German shorthaired pointer named CJ.

The Best of Breed award for 2019 Westminster Show in the Irish terrier class was won by the 4-year-old Piper. The dog’s full name is “Gchs Ch Trackways Cassidy Pi'd Piper”. Piper is owned by Terry Cassidy, Cass Cassidy, and Patty Howard and Harvey Howard. The entry comprising 132 dogs was judged by judge Anne Katona.
