Guelph is a southwestern Ontarian city located about 28 kilometers east of Kitchener and 100 kilometers west of Downtown Toronto. Its population is 131,794, based on the 2016 Canadian population census. Guelph is known as the Royal City, a name bestowed on the city by John Galt in honor of the British Royal Family in 1827.
