Knysh Funeral Chapel a former Manitoba-based funeral home was out of business after a Manitoban prearranged a funeral with them. Markewich paid Knysh $3,500 for a pre-arranged funeral in 2009 and an additional $550 in 2016, making a total of $4,050 in the funeral fund.

However, Mike Knysh relocated to Edmonton and is now a licensed funeral director at Connelly-McKinley. When reached at his workplace in Alberta, Mike revealed that he also remembered Rose Markewich. But when asked about the money paid for the pre-arranged funeral, he promised to look into it.

Mike pointed out that the company was still registered when Markewich signed her agreement and would get the lawyer to look into the matter.
