Daisy, a Florida-based Bearded Collie is a therapy dog handled by Lori Bale. Together with some other wonderful dogs, Daisy has been in the halls and rooms of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, providing comfort and support.

The Bearded Collie had liver cancer in 2014 when she was 10. Bale was advised to put her down but someone she did not go with the popular opinion, and thankfully, the bearded Collie pulled through.

Speaking about her loving pup, Bale said: “five years ago, we were advised to put our bearded Collie down because she had liver cancer. Daisy is now 15, resilient and proving everyone wrong”.

Bale also revealed that Daisy has impacted so many lives and made so many people happy with her therapy work. “Our most rewarding and humbling experience has been helping the students and staff at Marjory Stoneman Douglas, they have become our extended family”, Bale added.

The kids at Marjory are able to pull through their difficult times through the support and therapy work rendered by Daisy and so many other therapy dogs. Bale believes that the kids will be just as resilient as her Bearded Collie.
