The 2016 population estimate also estimated the population of Toronto census metropolitan area (CMA) to be the largest of all CMA’s in Canada with a population of 5.928 million. Most of the population of Toronto CMA is concentrated in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Toronto has a very diversified economy with core strength in financial services, education, technology, life sciences, design, arts, food services, tourism, environmental innovation, and so forth.
