St. Catharines Health News

The members of the Rotary Club of St. Catharines Lakeshore presented the remainder of their $25,000 pledge to Niagara Health Foundation on July. The pledge was intended for the purchase of a Paediatric Colonoscope.

The Past President of the club, J. Kent Chisholm stated that the club likes projects that focus on children and youth and that the project has allowed them to combine that desire and a fight against cancer. He also pointed out that several of the club members took part in the Big Move Cancer Ride. The members were committed to ensuring that the health of their friends, family, and community is improved.

The Niagara Health Foundation was surprised by the timely completion of the pledge. However, the success and promptness of the club can be attributed to the effort of Gino Marchionda, a rotary member, Big Move Rider and Owner of Manor Cleaner, who helped in raising the funds through his coupon book.

The club hosts several fundraising events throughout the year. These include Spaghetti Dinners, Perennial Plant sales, a Christmas draw and so forth.
