The project for the expansion of the Milton District Hospital has clinched the silver price in the 2018 National Award for Innovation and Excellence in Public-Private Partnership. Since 1998, the prestigious award is being presented by the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnership (CCPPP). This year’s award was delivered during the 26th annual conference of CCPPP known as P3 2018 that held on Monday, November 5, 2018, in Toronto at the Sheraton Center Toronto Hotel.

The Milton District Hospital Expansion team was congratulated by CCPPP and its members on the award. Furthermore, five projects won the award and these projects all represent dedication and hard work across Canada, one such project is the Ontario hospital project which represents innovativeness in how P3s are built, financed services and also their impact in building the economy and saving costs.

According to Bill Bailey, the Senior Vice President, Redevelopment and Facilities of Halton Healthcare, the successful completion of the project is due to the enormous collaboration between the respective partners who participated in it. Bailey stated that this shows how the partnership between public and private enterprises could deliver high quality and also requisite public infrastructures at record time and budget.

The partners involved in the project include Halton Healthcare and Plenary Health, PCL Constructors Canada Inc., a Consortium of Plenary Group Canada Ltd., RBC Capital Market, and Johnson Control Canada LP. Infrastructure Ontario, and RTKL Associates.
