Laval Collision Reporting Centers

If you sustained a bodily injury in a collision or traffic accident in Laval, you need to contact SAAQ and follow the procedures to report the accident.

The public automobile insurance plan in Quebec provides coverage for all Quebec residents involved in a traffic accident anywhere in the world no matter who is responsible for the accident.

The first thing to do after the accident is to contact a physician for the initial medical report, report your accident and open a claim file and contact your private insurer for the property damage.

Some types of accidents are not covered by the Quebec public automobile insurance plan. How you report the traffic accident depends a lot on how it occurred. For instance, if the traffic accident occurred while you are exercising your employment duties, you need to report it to Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail.

However, if it occurred due to a criminal act, you can either report it to SAA responsible for Automobile Insurance Act or Commission des norms responsible for Crime Victims Compensation Act. Similar accident reporting procedure applies to accidents that took place while providing emergency assistance to someone else.

You can contact SAAQ to know the option that applies to your case and the procedure to follow.

SAAQ provides you a maximum of three years from the date the accident occurred to report the claim.

Laval Auto Insurance News

A fast food spot was partially demolished by a possibly drunk driver in an unfortunate restaurant disaster in March 2018. Just three days after the restaurant was opened the driver crashed a car into it.

The restaurant which is a franchise of La Belle Province in west end Laval is owned by a 30-year-old man, Sam Daher. Daher said that it seems the police was following the possibly drunk driver when he lost control and plowed into the building in order to get away from the police. The passengers sustained minor injuries but the driver was hospitalized.

According to Daher, he has invested all of his savings in the business but thankfully he has an insurance policy for the business but he is unsure how much coverage the policy will cover for the damage.

A similar disaster occurred last year in the community. The last year catastrophe involved Plateau restaurant Kiffin which was burnt out of its premises barely less than a week after it was established. The outbreak occurred as a result of a fire that broke out in a yoga studio situated above it.
