Hamilton Funeral Insurance News

Diana Parent was clear with what she wanted for her funeral before she died. But when Judy Wood went to finalize her sister’s funeral at Victoria Greenlawn's funeral home, she realized that her sister’s planning did not cover any funeral services. It only covered the burial spot, cremation, and urn.

Wood described the experience as shocking. The funeral home staff said the package they recommended included everything Wood wanted. After going through all the services included in the package, the bill went up to $10,000 on top of the money already paid by Diana.

Wood said she didn’t want to seem as though she was asking a lot of questions but after trying to keep costs down by cancelling terms like catered receptions and memorial cards, they still needed to stash out an additional $4,300 for the funeral.
